JL SPORTS AND ITS CLIENTS TEAM UP WITH THE UNITED WAY FOR THE 17th ANNUAL UNITED WAY/NFL PLAYERS BOWLING TOURNAMENT
In March 2010, Rich Ohrnberger, Vladamir Duccasse, Brian Hoyer and Jacques Cesaire were among the 35 JL Sports NFL Players participating in the 17th Annual NFL Players/United Way Bowling Tournament
The United Way had NFL players step off the gridiron for a local weekend of community events in southern Connecticut. Working with the United Way agency in Wallingford, more than 35 players participated in various projects such as visiting children at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, waiting tables for area police and firefighters, and participating in a celebrity auction and competing in the bowling tournament in Wallingford.
This event marked the 17th anniversary that players from various NFL cities have teamed up to participate in this hands-on fundraising project with the United Way, making it the largest sports/charity partnership of its kind in the Northeast.
"Our clients are very generous with their time during their limited off-season," said Joe Linta, president of New Haven-based JL Sports. "This event has gotten to the point where the players are calling us asking what the date will be for the upcoming year.
